The Beginning
As a law student, Anthony J. Gonzalez already had a clear idea of the kind of attorney he wanted to become. He understood that practicing law would give him the opportunity to advocate for people during moments when the stakes were deeply personal, and he believed that responsibility should never be taken lightly. He wanted to build a career defined not only by results, but by trust, preparation, honesty, and the way people felt when they placed something important in his hands.
Over the years, that vision became more defined. Anthony built his career handling complex matters and gaining experience from both sides of the legal system, including time representing insurance companies and other defendants before dedicating his practice to advocating for individuals and families. That experience taught him how cases are evaluated, defended, negotiated, and litigated, but it also showed him something equally important: what he believed the relationship between an attorney and a client should look like.
He believed clients deserved to understand what was happening in their case. They deserved honest conversations, even when those conversations were difficult. They deserved a team that was accessible, prepared, proactive, and genuinely invested in the outcome. Most importantly, they deserved to feel like the people representing them understood that behind every legal matter was a real person, a real family, and a life being affected by what happened next.
That belief eventually became Veritas Law Group.
The Name
Veritas, Latin for truth.
The name was chosen because it represents the foundation upon which we wanted to build everything else. To us, truth means transparency with our clients, integrity in the way we practice, and the confidence to give honest guidance rather than simply telling someone what they want to hear. But we also knew that trust and good intentions alone weren’t enough. Our clients come to us because they need someone capable of moving their matter forward and fighting for the best possible outcome.
That balance became the promise behind our firm: Built on Truth. Driven by Results.
What Kind of Firm
When we began building Veritas, we often asked ourselves a simple question: What kind of law firm would we want representing someone we love? The answer has influenced nearly every decision we’ve made. We would want exceptional attorneys, but we would also want people who answered our questions, kept us informed, knew our story, and understood why the outcome mattered. We would want a firm sophisticated enough to use the best tools available, but personal enough that we never felt lost inside of them.
That is why Veritas was intentionally built to be both high touch and high tech. We embrace technology, automation, and modern systems because they allow our team to communicate better, stay organized, work efficiently, and focus more of our time on strategy and advocacy. We want to be worlds ahead in how we operate, while making sure the experience on the other side remains unmistakably human. Technology should make it easier for us to care for people, never create distance between us and them.

The family you see on this page is the family behind Veritas. This firm has been built through countless conversations at our dinner table, late nights dreaming about what it could become, difficult decisions, sacrifices, celebrations, and a shared belief that if we were going to build something with our family name and values behind it, it had to mean something.
Our children are watching us build Veritas, and that has shaped us more than they probably realize. We want them to see that success isn’t only measured by what you accomplish, but by how you accomplish it: keeping your word, working hard, treating people well, standing for what is right, and remembering that someone’s trust is something you earn and protect.
